Mulberry Street Cemetery is a significant historical site located in La Grange, Georgia. Between 1863 and 1930, more than 1,000 individuals were buried here, including more than 300 Civil War solider and enslaved orderlies, mostly unmarked. This project includes site planning, wayfinding and historical signage, a new pavilion, and the preservation of a Horace King bridge. King, born a slave in 1807, was a master builder who travelled the southeast constructed covered bridges before his service in Alabama’s Reconstruction legislature.
